The first step is email yourself the iLivestock import templates. This can be done by selecting 'CSV Import Templates' from the Databases (Reporting V10.0 onwards) option in 'Admin'. You should then open the import sheet you want (CattleImport.csv or SheepImport.csv). In this example we'll use CattleImport.csv.

You should not modify the first (headings) row. Please be sure to read the notes. The first column must contain the row type, in this case, 'ANCA' - ANimal CAttle. Fill out all the fields you want to import. DO NOT DELETE ANY COLUMNS. If you have no data for that column, leave blank. Date format must be DD/MM/YYYY. EID must be all numeric. You can add your own notes to the import file, just ensure 'Note' is in the reserved column A for each row note you add. Once the file has been completed, email it to your iOS device (or use iCloud Drive/AirDrop etc).

On the device, open the email or browse to the file on iCloud and select it, then hit the 'share' icon (usually a box with an upward arrow). When the 'share sheet' is shown, choose 'iLivestock'. iLivestock App will then open and import the file. Any errors during the import will be emailed to you from the device. Your animal list will now show all animals successfully imported.

The second stage is to add the groups. This is done using GroupsImport.csv spreadsheet:

In this case, column A must be 'GRPS' for Groups, then the EID number (exactly as per the cattle import sheet above), then visual and management numbers if required, leave blank if not. Then a species must be stated followed by the name for the new group to add the animal to. You can also add a note for the group. Follow the same process as above to import this spreadsheet. After the import, any errors will be emailed to you and successful groupings will be shown in the 'Groups' tab of iLivestock.
