Sometimes, you may see an animal ID (EID, Visual) displayed like this '8.2601E+14' when you open a CSV export file in Excel or Numbers. This has happened because the spreadsheet is trying to display this as a large number and defaults to what is known as 'Scientific Notation'. Don't worry, this is easy to fix.

To resolve this issue, you need to 'Import' the CSV into the spreadsheet program.

For Excel, follow this process:

1. From the 'File' menu, choose 'Import'

2. Choose 'CSV' file.

3. Choose the file you want to import. This will then start the import wizard.

Select 'Delimited' and press 'Next'

4. Choose 'Tab' and 'Comma' and press 'Next'

5. This is the key stage. In the data preview, scroll right to left until you see the 'Animal ID' column.

Select this column and then choose Column data format - Text. Click 'Finish'

This AnimalID fcolumn will then be imported correctly.
